AGG water pump belt

Hi, I've recently bought a 2.0 8v, I've done plenty of research and looking on the forum here but couldn't find the answer to this.
Is the water pump belt supposed to run with the ribbed inside of the belt against the water pump pulley, or with the flat outside against it? Thanks in advance.

Ribbed side is meant to be on the water pump pulley. If the flat side is driving the pump it runs wrong way around, plus belt might slip.
