COULD BE GETTING MK3 ANNI
« on: 15 September 2015, 18:36 »
Hey,

Could potentially be getting a 5 door mk3 golf anniversary 8v with sunroof and air con in black.

Never owned a golf before, just wondering are they quick and good to drive? I know that's a stupid question but 115bhp out of a 2.0 doesn't seem
Much to me. I had a mk3 polo for
Years and it handled like a go cart and I loved it.

I've currently got a Audi b5 1.8T sports with 150bhp and although it's got a turbo and fairly mint just a bit bored of it.

I've read up on the some issues
About rot and that is scaring me a bit so will need to look over it fully.

Any help you can recommend id appreciate

M

Quick ?.No,definately not quick.More like a GL with a GTi badge.

Definately not a "hot hatch" but i have 4 of them so i'm either loopy loop or they must have something going for them

I owned one.. Twice. They are NOT quick cars. Nippy at best.

If you're after something like a go kart then the MK3 is not for you. Also, there's really not much you can do tuning wise either, so I'd probably hold off for something else.

If you're set on a quick MK3, then consider the VR or the 16V.

If you want a quick gocart, go for a MK2 16v with the KR engine (86-88). Outshine every MK3 there is, when it comes to the quickness

The 150bhp A3 and 8v feel very similar.
lardy and not quick.
only thing fast about a mk3 is how it rusts.
16v is best of the bunch in terms of all round package.

Thanks for the response guys. Think I'm gonna leave it then. Can't be dealing with sh!te mpg for no return in the speed department.

Would love a mk2 16v but finding one at a good price is a myth.
