Vr6 conversion from 1.4 8v
« on: 15 September 2015, 17:19 »
Okay so basically as the title states,
Ive got a modded mk3 golf 1.4 8v got to it looking how i want it to,
Now i need to concentrate on the engine side of things as its extremley slow LOL!

So ive gone and bought a vr6 2.8 f**kl donor car
Fully running, got it pretty cheap as the shell is f**ked due to rust,
But i only want essentials to do the conversion

On my 1.4 all the brakes have already been converted to 5 stud and uprated brakes ect

So basically i only need the engine, loom ect
Am i right in thinking i neee to change fuel tanks and pump? The pressure has got to be alot more right?

Anyway my main question is about the wiring loom,
Does it split in parts? Engine loom, dash loom to rear
Read up on a little bit about it, and seen that the engine loom will plug and play into my 1.4 fusebox ect(so would that mean i dont need to change dash loom)
HELPPPP . I havent started the conversion yet im waiting for payday as im gonna do a few things to the engine before i drop it in

No hatee please im new to this
Any help is much appreciated
Thankss

The wiring is pretty much modular - grab what you need from the donor and swap it into your car, including the in-tank pressure pump.  You may need to change the return line to the tank - the injection motor has same-size vs others which might have a smaller line.

Just don't forget to update the car with the larger engine size so you're not fraudulently paying lower-band RFL on it.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
