Do they mean a re-gas or just a deodorizer service?

A re-gas is unlikely to be required and you would notice it by a lack of cold air when using the air-con - this is just an expensive up-sell and not normally required.  Typically a re-gas might be a good idea around 5 years

A deodorizer might be a good idea if you do very high mileage as bugs can build up in the unit and cause a bad smell.  But you can buy a can of deodorizer from halfords or other car parts supplier and do it your self, quick, easy and cheap.

My advice is just say No

I'm getting my air con serviced next week at Inchcape vw in Chester. They had a deal on for air con service and car washed and vacuumed for about £23 on groupon. However groupon were doing an extra 20% off at the time so managed to get it for about £19. At that price I thought it was worth while, even just to have tha car cleaned!

groupon price . no harm in asking is there

Medic with you having a carbon grey car I'd highly advise against getting it washed at your dealers. They'll use a sponge and drag no end of grit around the car leading to swirls.

My dealer never washes my car and they never will! At 2 years and 10k miles your air con will be fine, it's just your dealer trying to screw you for work that isn't needed.

I'd pay them £19 not to wash the car!!

The paintwork on my car is disgraceful at the mo anyway! I need to get it booked in for a paint correction and detail I think! Any recommendations locally?!

That is just BS your dealer is selling. A regular aircon service/check is usually done at 4 years/40k. At 10k I wouldn't even bother.
