Mk4 GTI Overheating when idling
« on: 10 September 2015, 12:20 »
Recently bought a mk4 gti 1.8T

I have noticed that when idling for around 10-20minutes the car begins to overheat, however the fan doesnt seem to be kicking in? Temperature gauge up around 120 and temperature light flashing and beeping but fan still doesnt kick in

Anyone any ideas as to why this would be (fan might not work just)

test the fan itself (you can short switch), if this work the rad thermal switch is gone.
