I like the ClubSport (and I get the appeal over the R to some).  I love GTI's and I like R's. I may indeed love R's soon - I will let you know in dure course.

The GTI is a cult classic and ever will be.  There's a lot of talk about the R having no identity, or history/heritage behind it, but this does not happen overnight, or more accurately, over a handful of short years.  And though times are different, remember this was once true of the GTI. It has earned it's cult status and I hope the R does too, in time, though granted VW's marketing strategy of flooding the market with über hatches makes this more of a challenge.

As for people 'recognising' an R, I really couldn't care less if they do or don't. It's nice to be complimented on your car, but I buy cars for me, not for a few pleasing comments and admiring glances in the street.

Anyway, congrats on the GT4 wigit (if you take up the build slot), nice to see someone 'going for it'.  Life is short, and you never know what's coming next, so enjoy the fruits of your labour.   Look forward to seeing your CS pics.

Well I've seen it, they are not letting the public in it at the show so taking interior shots was a challenge

Looked ok ride height may be a smudge lower than a stock GTI

Those doing the rear spoiler mod with need the glass black fins aas well

I'll get some pics over next few days, they had a met red PP GTI a which just looked superb

New Tiguan is also looking good

Best Golf there was a kamai liveried mk1 race car

Thought the RS Focus may have pushed buttons but could not live with the looks, it's als quite slab sided

Show highlight were the Abarth girls again

Any pictures of the standard 18" wheels yet? The 19s shown on the show cars aren't exciting me, but I'm open to a change on the standard 18" wheels I have (particularly as Mrs Pixelmix has kerbed one!)

Ford were always going to better the power of the Golf, it's what Ford and Vauxhall always do. I think they've missed a trick by not opting for the 5 cylinder though but emissions compliance will have scrapped that idea.

The R is what the GTI should be...the most performance orientated model available in the range.

No real news about the Golf R400 was mentioned at the Frankfurt motor show recently, maybe a 2015 Geneva launch for the R400?

And yet it still looks horrid   Impressive stats though, will be interesting to read how it drives.
