Always owned this car outright too, have others in family (company car and a van) but this one my wife mainly drives and me at weekends etc, so low mileage and more for fun etc.

Looked at leasing, but can't see the sense for me on this car, even though its a lot of cash tied up in a car, but not sure leasing is better at all tbh.

Will 99% get a Clubsport now as was thinking of an R..... If they came with free leather and winter pack on the broker deals I have seen, would take one in a shot, even though there will be loads about in 3 years time come the next change.

Just want a deal on the Clubsport, I'm hoping some brokers may get options on them after the initial Jan - Mar orders have been taken... lets wait an see, always managed around 7-8% from dealer and good to fair PX price, as they know they can sell my car easy (low miles, dealer supplied, excellent condition etc) but we paid more or less list on an Edition 30, and I won't do that again.

I feel the same. My initial intension was to keep my gti pp until the mk 8 arrived. This is why I bought a factory 5 year extended warranty . I figured that would allow me to wait for the discounts following the initial rush. The club sport has thrown a spanner in the works as I am tempted but not prepared to pay full list price . If there are discounts to be had I will consider buying .

Questions,

1. Thought you could not have 19's and a Sunroof, or is that just for the R?
2. All the pictures of the 3x test cars have no arm rests, assuming its not possible with these seats?

Have found a pic of the rear seats on the GTI clubsport.  It appears the centre arm rest has been removed to allow for the Bucket Seats.  However the rear seats and finish look fantastic, check out the pic

It also appears the air vents in the rear on back of arm rest have been removed?

Vw should have put the alcantara/cloth seats in the standard GTI. They look a lot classier and more along the lines of the the A3 S Line seats that my wife's car has.

More to the point VW UK should have provided the Alcantara cloth seats as an option.  They were available in other countries even Ireland I believe, but not the UK.

It's funny how we are all different I think alcantara is awful not so much the seats more the steering wheel looks cheap compared to the leather IMHA
