I won't miss the acc either. I think it's total bollocks to be honest.
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.

Think the radar is good as a passive safety feature but never use the ACC personally and if was an option would be bottom of my list.

The safety it offers is worth it plus the saving on my insurance is a help. Don't use the cruise control aspect. Well I did whilst driving in France when I got stuck in moving traffic works a peach but don't really have a need otherwise.

Have used it on an M25 crawl and on long runs up M6 and quite useful in contraflow with 50 MPH speed limits but invariably i just take over and feel far more comfortable in doing so. As time has moved on my trying it has gone to not using at all and that's likely for last 12 months.

As a passive safety feature its nice to know its there and does assist insurance to - Be interesting to know figures of MK7 rear end shunts of other cars as in theory that should be now negligible?

I'm going to go against the haters here.

ACC is the best thing ever for me.

I'd go as far as saying that I'd delete nearly every other option over and above this one.

I guess it depends on how much very boring motorway or dual carriageway driving you do every day, but for me it makes a massive difference as to how tired I am when i get to my destination.

Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro
Gone: 2014 Mk7 GTD, manual, NavPro, DCC

I'm with fredgroves - when I got my 63 plate 2 years ago I thought I'd hate ACC & Stop/Start etc. being a bit of a sporty driver - but how wrong could I have been.  ACC does help the fuel consumption as well, so a bonus when crunching through the motorway miles.
Picked up 02.09.17 Mk7.5 GTD Isaac Blue, Manual 5 Drs, DCC, Reversing Camera, Keyless, 90% tints, Heated front screen, Mudflaps all round

Sep 2015 65 plate Mk7 GTD Carbon Grey, Manual, 5 Drs, DCC, Reversing Camera, Sat Nav, Keyless, Sport & Sound, Mudflaps all round

2013 63 plate Mk7 GTD, Manual, 5 doors, Carbon Grey Metalic, ACC, Reversing Camera, Mudflaps front & rear - Took delivery October 2013

Yes totally agree with Fred's comment too - ACC is indispensable!

It must be a control issue then as in personal  just find it hard to let car do it for me over an extended period.

Will accept purely a preference on this one then as no wrong/right

Have to admit the technology itself is impressive as it really does drive itself with the DSG.

Love the colour of your S3, very classy. You may be able to code the folding mirror on reverse.

Started my decision making this weekend for next change which was very early as cannot order till April next year! but it was a quiet weekend but think my decision making is pretty much over already as certain things already know that cannot get over.

Firstly Audi

There was a black S3 Sportback in showroom and a standard A3 S Line 3 Door and still cannot get over the Sportback lines for me personally.

Love the A3 S line 3 Door lines but having had 2 of this model previously really cannot get over not having 5 doors and going back to driving me mad getting in and out of passengers (quite regular carrier of)

So when add in that would have to likely drop some options that really like due to price then that is Audi eliminated.

BMW had a gold ticket event and some really good savings on the tickets but sat in 1 2 3 and 4 series and tried to convince myself that would like but that feeling never came. The 3-4 too big for me really and really only liked the 1-2 in saloon and the only car that really took some attention was from wife in an 2 M series convertible in black but not for me!

Noticed every car had a handbrake? presume auto hold is an option?

So that is BMW eliminated.

The next 2 garages up on same road are Ford and Mercedes and spent about 10 minutes in each as again thoughts not changed,.

Think the A series is too cramped for view and just not like interior too much. When kitted up the style is ok but interior is where spend most of time.

Did not have any performance Focus or Fiesta as even though they little OTT in styling do quite like them to, but again interior of what did see was horrible if honest.

So that is both them eliminated.

Honda Type R was a consideration but having seen reviews and one in flesh (not at garage) then have dismissed that pretty quickly

Would consider a Guiletta if was an option as only other car would look at.

So went full circle in one weekend and back to the MK7 and basically can relax now and not give it all much thought as be getting a Lapiz Blue R with with preferred options of DSG 5 Door DCC Winter Pack and dropping the Sat Nav (depends what standard by then as might change) and if have ££ left putting pretoria on it + tin of hammerite for hub rust at 5000 miles

Wife relieved as she knows that that weekend has just saved her from many weeks of me boring her silly with models and options.
