Hi

Sad to see the Mk6 go but at least you have the 7R to look forward to!

Not long now

Thanks Buck.

I am starting to look forward the 7R now and am just awaiting that stage 4/5a build update text, some time this week all being well.

Looks stunning Rebecca, the reflection on the side view photo is amazing. Norman is very lucky to own such a cherished car.

May I have first refusal on your MK7 when the time comes?

Thanks.  I will miss it greatly but am looking forward to having a month or so off car cleaning.

Haha!  I'll put you at the top of the list Blackmass for the R in about 3-4 years time.

If you start to miss cleaning the GTi too much, you can clean mine if you like?

Seriously though, absolutely stunning car, it's a credit to you & your dedication to keep it clean.

I do love the R, but it's just a little bit out of reach for me at the moment, very jealous though. Looking forward to the pictures!

Thanks.  I like to look after my cars.

Haha!  Clean your own car.  The Audi hire car is looking grubby already. Always thought white cars stayed looking cleaner for longer, but no!  Still I'm not inclined to clean it at all as I've actually have come to  dislike it intensely in the space of only 5 days.  Cannot wait to get back into a Golf!

There may be a few pics of the R posted.   When I am finally possession of it and it's had a bit of TLC.  It cannot come soon enough now!

I am sure if you give the audi a wash and polish /wax you will like it a bit better  white is good when clean and the garage will be delighted to get the car back cleaner than when you got it .

Haha!  My dislike of the A3 has nothing to do with it's colour or whether it's clean or not.  I'm not that shallow.

It's only a temporary arrangement but that doesn't stop you taking note of the handling and detail etc.  There are many things I don't like about it.  It understeers more than any other car I've had.  Steering lacks precision, a bit flabby.  The seats are exceptionally uncomfortable (no lumbar adjustment) and have given me back ache, which I've never had in my life before.  The centre console is a barren zone that attracts dust at three times the rate of the Mk6. The same might be true of the piano black trim in the R?  I don't like the lack of headroom compared to a Golf.  The rear view mirror is minuscule.  The driving position is odd and no amount of adjustment has helped.  At it's lowest position the seat belt still rides up and cuts across my neck, despite me fiddling with seat height to counter this.  Never had any such problem on a golf.  The STOP/START seems to work only intermittently and is inconsistent.  It lacks a full auto electronic handbrake like the Mk7.  I could go on.....lol.

The good points?  I may never have to fill it up due to the increased mpg (diesel) but I'm actually beginning to miss my trips to the petrol station.  It is marshmallow-like over the potholes, which helps with the backache it has given me, haha.  That's a new experience for me as I'm used to bone crunching 19's.  But would I trade them for this?  No.

There, I feel better now.

Now where's my carnauba wax?

Oh Okay . You could always take it back to the dealer and complain its giving you back pain and you cant drive it and get something else hopefully or say you have a big journey to do and you want something better , but give it a wash first ! !
Looking forward to seeing photos of the R when you get it .

Lol.  I'll put up with it till the R turns up.   I'm being over critical I know. I actually found the lumbar adjustment lever today, hidden under the front of the seat, thank God.  Whoever had driven it previously had it set to maximum support so it was like leaning against a canonball.  Much better now.

I'll be sure to pop up some pics of the R once I've given it a good clean and got a few nice layers of wax on it.
