Mine ran 290bhp off stage 2 and in my opinion its hard to get that power down out off the front wheels so running say 360 bhp with a ko4 would be a waste in my opinion i would have stuck with the 360 bhp s3 with 4 wheel drive and a stronger engine to take that sort off power
Full blueflame 3inch turbo back system sports cat, pipercross panel filter, revo stage 2 remap 290 bhp 350 lbft, neuspeed short shift, heko wind deflectors, forge blow off valve.

I certainly have no traction issues at stage 2, in my book it really isnt fast. If youre struggling maybe you need to look at tyres.

Half the reason i sold S3 was it was pretty sensible with that kind of power, half the fun is putting the power down having a bit of a fight on your hands..  Im not a fan of quattro.

Its smooth, refined power from a good map anyway, not like an old peaky turbo car..

Why do you reckon there's so much difference between the two bhp wise? How's that work out if you've both got stage 2. As i've seen stage 1's higher than 260.

Edit - Just seen the plan is to use APR software.

Quattro more ideal for bigger power but ETTO.

Wow it sounds sore at that.

I take it you cant fit yourself and need to pay labour?

What does that consist of?

APR kit inc software is £2600
Exhaust £1000
Intake £350
Intercooler £600
Clutch £460

Total parts: £5010

Labour easily 10hrs at say £50- £500

Total £5510.

Oft, right enough that sounds sore!

I wouldnt do it at that money either.

I have K04 kit made up myself for £600 + APR software £600- £1200 instead of £2600 APR kit!!!

Car had exhaust and filter already and got an intercooler new at £380.

Yup well I just had to order a new clutch so am on my way lol but thats going to cost me over a grand with the fly wheel. (Sachs Performance) so I definitely going to start doing the rest to atleast stage 2 now.

With the k04 turbo dont you need to upgrade the brakes too?

How did you get your turbo so cheap are you in the business yes?
Im pretty clueless when it comes to car engines so unfortunately going to cost me big whatever, although I could manage the filter & intercooler I reckon.
Plus I am told you only need to change the downpipe & not the full exhaust?

My car has done 53k but I spent a lot of time, £ & effort sound deadening the whole car & my speaker install etc cost me a lot so would ultimately like to keep the car & eventually add the turbo.

Is there any way I can get hold of a k04 turbo without having to modify it myself cheaper than revo or apr.

Revo is £1250 without software, according to their site but when you go demon tweaks they want £1500.

Seems like a damn con when you look at the price of an s3/r k04.

Also I have been looking at the comparison between revo or apr remap. Im not sure there is that much in it & would probably go for whatevers cheapest. Revo seems to be a lot more aggressive & not so good for daily driving.

I just estimated my stage 2 at 260bhp, i think 290bhp is quite unlikely for sure.

Well, its now complete and running my own modified K04 with APR software. Its a bit of an animal now!

376BHP and 378LB/FT

Thats more like it, and now it struggles for traction, which is great fun. My S3 was boring!
