MK3.5 cabriolet question ???????

Hi all.

Does anyone know if the roll bar on a mk3 or 3.5 convertible is removable (the metal arch thing that is above the back of your head when you sit in the front seats) .

I'm trying to find out if it is welded or bolted in ?.
