Identify the engine
« on: 23 August 2015, 08:39 »
Hello and good morning all , I am a new member and have just purchased a MK2 1.8T , many years after having an 8v small bumper. It has a relatively healthy 1.8t but does require a few parts to make A1, what I need to know is how can I identify what the engine code of the 1.8t is ? Done see any tags anywhere , any help greatly appreciated.

Has it still got cable change or hydraulic clutch? If it's still cable change I'd be leaning more towards an AGU. Other thing is cant you get in touch with who you bought the car off and ask them?

You should be able to find the engine code at the top of the engine just near the rocker cover, at the front left hand side as you look at it.
Hope that helps.
