Anniversary front brake discs

Hi all,

looking for some info/assistance

Just got my 96 2.0 GTi 8V anniversary back from garage, who have said they can't get front discs to fit my car.
As far as I can tell, the car is all standard spec with no suspension or brake mods.
They have been supplied three different types of discs, which fit on the hub, but when assembled the disc is too thick and catches the wheel.
they have fitted the new pads, which i don't want to ruin with old discs.

I did ask them to do the rears as well, but they haven't touched those!!

Any ideas or pointers would be very much appreciated

Change garage

In other words they started with the backs and rounded off the bolts that hold the brackets on and decided to pass the buck but thought you deserved to buy another set of new front pads so fitted 1 new set to your old discs to make sure you do so.

Probably the same garage that told me they could'nt do a diagnostics on my x reg 3.5 because it does'nt have a diagnostics socket.Obviously the one next to the ashtray was fitted by VW just for show.

288mm by then,even if it was a hang over on 280mm should be very easy to sort out.
Its not unknown for calipers to catch the back of the rim with fresh pads especially with worn bearings.
This should be just a quick buzz with a grinding wheel, usually around the edges of the casting to add the required clearance.
Do you have OE Golf wheels?

Finally got some 288mm discs sorted

288mm by then,even if it was a hang over on 280mm should be very easy to sort out.
