R Gloss Black Mirror Part Number

Hi Guys,

First post, long time lurker.  First off, what a nice forum!

So, I have had my new GTD arrive at the dealer last week, ordered in January through lease company, spec is:

Manual, 5DR, Tornado Red, pan roof + winter pack, new wing mirror covers painted VW black L041. (by dealer)

Was built BW28 so now obviously have the BW22 changes.

I've noticed in the new price list there is an option for gloss black door mirrors for the R. (page 23) Would anyone know the part number for these or are they a factory only option? Dealer couldn't find any info.

If not, could someone with a black Golf confirm if the L041 paint is more or less the same finish as the pan roof?

Also, what does the keyless fob look like? Do I still need to check it comes with the GTD logo?

Have a look on ebay.de as I know a lot of folk have got theirs from there.
Also have a search on this forum and that should give you some info.

Can't answer the question on the mirrors I'm afraid, but the Keyless Entry keyfobs are identical to the standard keys.

And yes, the GTD, GTI and R models should have the chrome end piece with the appropriate logo.

Thanks for the numbers, but I think those are the ones for the plain, unpainted caps as these are the same codes I sent to my dealer a few months back before I noticed the R ones in the new pricelist.

I just maybe thought it might be easier/possibly cheaper for the dealer to order the R ones rather than buy unpainted and cost to paint them...

Ah, ok, sorry, I'd noted the part no's down without any accompanying info!  Surely the dealer can give you the part number then?

If you do get the correct part numbers for painted gloss black ones would you mind posting it up on here please.  Thanks

No probs, dealer just emailed back now saying they already have my new ones just need painting and had no luck with the part numbers I'm afraid.

I'm now waiting for 1st September collection for the 65 plate, waited 9 months so another 3 weeks doesn't bother me, I've also had a MK6 GTD for the last few months so more than happy to stay in that until then!

Also, you say your spec was winter pack, did they knock something off the lease price for you? That will have been standard spec by the time you got the car...

Ordered 2nd January, arrived at dealer last week, so 8 months then.

I knew it would be at least 6 months, there are people waiting even longer than 9 months? After being on here and other forums it seems you have the option of 1) Being patient and wait or 2) Buy a BMW?

Lease price is on the old price list before the increase, plus I'm getting sat nav, keyless and now TR for free so that more than covers the winter pack.

The lead time is still very bad, getting worse it seems.

But as you say... its wait or....a BMW breadvan
