selling my GTI - what price should I be looking at?
« on: 03 August 2015, 13:42 »
hi all, as title says.  I was wondering what's the depreciation so I dont ask for too much or too little.  The car was bought new 10/2009, it's a 5-door DSG, and has been kept in prime condition barring the occasional scratch on all alloys and a couple of minor scratches on the paint here and there.  Only mechanical midhap has been a mechatronics fault at 40k miles which was replaced under warranty.  After almost five years it's now got 90k miles.  I am selling in Cyprus but I guess depreciation works the same everywhere...  Anyways i was thinking around 10,500 pounds (which is a nice round 15K in euro).  Too much / too little / just about right?

Yeah I would say thats about right mate. All depends on added extras like Leather, Sat-Nav, ACC, Luxury Pack, any performance mods.

Having 90k on it might put a few people off. You will have to compare with similar cars in your area mate.

Agreed, sounds about right.

I've looked at a lot of GTI's on Pistonheads and Autotrader lately to help decide on a price for my Mk6 which will be going up for sale end of August, and your proposed price seems to be pitched right from what I've seen of cars with comparable mileage and year.
