Mazda MX5 owners generally do it, especially if roof is down.

On a blast through France a couple of years ago I spent a about an hour 'collecting' other MX5s on the autoroute.

The Megane RS drivers used to flash me or signal me somehow and I them. It doesn't happen with the MK7 though. Since I got my MK7, I only get signaled by a focus ST which I cross path twice a day to my work commute and back home.

Funny you should mention Focus ST drivers. There's quite few in Canterbury and they are quite amiable and give an appreciative nod now and again.  Not so MK7 drivers   But that's probably because they are a rarity around here.

Yeah, was surprised myself about that as well, considering that I don't see any sign from a GTD I see almost every day and random MK7s. I have stopped signaling them as well.

I always give a wave or nod to mk7 gti owners and usually get one back. I even had a guy in a clapped out Audi A4 chat to me in traffic tonight. Very pleased as its my first real compliment

Having done 250 miles yesterday along the A30 in Devon and Cornwall I came across three R's and none of them made any acknowldegement of my existence.
One Lapiz with a private plate, one 14 plate red one and a white one.
In fact if you turn left out of my road and drive the mile or so to the next village there are at least two and possibly three white R's in that village too and none of them nod or wave or even glance.
The only cars yesterday to give me a nod were a mk5 GTI and a purple/blue mk3 VR6 driver.
