Discovery Pro Nav Postcode Question / Problem

Guys,

My pro nav is running the latest maps but still doesn't give me the option of entering a house number when navigating with postcode input only it comes up with no street data?.  However if you enter the full address by town & street then the option to enter the house number is available, so surely the street data is available?  Seems very odd, the manual doesn't help either but I would of expected the house number option in postcode entry the same as tom tom.

Am I doing something wrong?

Its the way it is unless I've been missing something.

Its only in fairly recent history that VW units accepted seven digit postcodes !

Dammit....but thanks for the reply I can't see how it says street data not available when it clearly is when you input old style (town & street) kind of defeats the postcode option as it just puts you in the area   Tom tom have been doing it for years

It doesn't make sense, with my RNS in my old MK5 GTi you could add the address number, after entering the postcode, yet with my D Pro you can't

Is it a new build? I've bought 2 houses off plan in my time and it's generally taken about 8 months for all the relevant databases (for billing companies) to recognise the postcode.

It's taken nearly 2 years for my friends house in Pickering to be on any sat nav.

Nope, bout 60 years old i think, it'll find it no problem using the city/road/number just can't find the postcode.

If I use the postcode feature I can input the street and house number.

The options follow once I put in the postcode

Not that postcodes are always that useful in Devon - they can cover such a large area or be in rural areas that sometimes it doesn't help.
