Changing fuel filter on PD170 - advice please
« on: 22 July 2015, 10:16 »
Hi,

I am looking to change my fuel filter tonight on my Golf 2L TDI PD 170.

I've watched many of videos and looked on many forums. Could anyone give any advice? A quick step-by-step would be great. Also, stuff to be cautious of etc...

Thanks :)

Stupidly simple

Undo torx screws

Remove filter - watch for diesel coming out so put newspaper around area etc

Fit new filter

When putting the screws in do it in a star pattern like you would with wheel bolts to ensure a good seal

Start car and run it for a few minutes to check for leaks. Take it for a quick spin and then recheck for leaks

10 minute job max!!

Phew! Thanks again Rhyso. I've read loads of threads saying I need to take out the fuel pump fuse and a load of other nonsense which kind of put me off doing it myself!
