Rear brake calipers seized!!

Went to change rear brake pads today and found both rear calipers are seized! Has anyone else had this problem? Where's the best place for replacement? Or is it an excuse to get a big brake kit installed? Thanks

Wouldn't bother with a Big Brake Kit on the rear. I got the rear calipers for my Touran from Carfactorsuk, advertises on ebay, cheaper than Eurocarspares or GSF and good quality, refurbished but absolutely fine.

How have they managed to become seized? you drive it everyday dont you? Usually the heat and then the cooling down keeps them seize free.
Another reason why i put anti seize on loads of bolts and nuts

Its a problem that's plagued virtually all models of Golf
My MK4 needed the rears stripping and cleaning and my current A3 had two new rear calipers last year having covered just over 80,000 miles
