Servicing confusion...

Okay, so car is booked in tomorrow for its first service. What would be normally included in this? I'm guessing just an oil/oil filter change and a check over.

Also, the service indicator states Inspection in 1600 miles or 242 days and oil change in 300 miles or 242 days. Why is there such a gap between the two? What is included in the Inspection?

Ah.. that explains why the 242 days readout being on 'Flexible Servicing' regime it will be two years old in March/April 2016.

You are correct it will be an Oil Change/Filter service.
 
The in-cabin Dust & Pollen Filter is due at 60K kms /2 years.

I have had the first service done 2 weeks ago. They will only change the oil and filter + a general inspection (brake pads, tyres, etc) + wash/vacuum/polish.

You don't just get an oil and a filter change, if you go on a while you wait basis, you can take the piss and  have about 4 cups of hot chocolate, biscuits and 3 cans of pop too while reading all the newspapers or watching Sky Sports News!  :grin:

If you're on a lease that includes tyres you can also have free coffee at kwik fit while they are checking your tyres... they are still 5mm sir, we won't get authorisation to replace them  :whistle:

by that time I'd be into my 2nd cup of coffee :D

Well, I'm not getting it done at VW - getting it done from a reputable VAG specialist  :smiley:
I've had work done from them before on previous cars and they're second to none.

I did ask my leasing company whether I had to get it serviced only from VW and they said as long as genuine VW/VW approved parts are used, there is no issues getting it serviced from anywhere.

So I would rather get it done from somewhere I trust - even if it is on a lease!
