I noticed that while Eco makes the car much more quiet its was only when I unplugged it that I noticed it was still in the background, even in Eco mode.  Needless to say 15min later I had a heavy little speaker to stick in the shed for posterity.  Hopefully Eco on BW22 will turn if off completely but I wouldn't be too sure.

Hi,

I can't see anything on my post BW22 GTI. I've got a VCDS cable so I set it to 0% in there, however, changing driving modes my well alter the value. I'll try and confirm that.

Right. I've had a browse but can't find anything linking it to a menu option, only thing I can think is that it's buried deep in the 09 Adaptions list and that's one I've only got half a map for as the laptop run out of power...

I'll pull a full map later in the week and have another go.

When you select the driving mode, select "individual" in the top right hand corner it gives you an option to customise and then a lit...things like Steering, Engine, ACC, Cornering lights, Air Con....you can basicly combine Sport/Eco/Normal on specific things...Steering - Sport, Engine Noise in Cabin - Eco etc etc

You cannot adjust the volume

Hi,

With VCDS you can set the volume in the A9 Controller as a percentage. When I did the change, I was in ECO mode and it was set to 100%, so I reduced it to 0% and that appears to work OK (ie, it stays quiet no matter what mode you select). Some of the guys on the R forum with post BW22 cars appear to have a option to allow adjustment from the config menu so I'm hoping to find that in the 09 controller adaptations list and expose it with VCDS - I just need to get a full map of the controller to try and suss it out.

I've searched through the Central Electronics module but I can't find anything obvious that's would open up a menu option for the underlying volume of SoundAktor. If it is available, then it's well hidden...

There are lots of options for multicoloured lighting though - if only they fitted multi-coloured LEDs in the GTI then we could have a bit more individuality....
