I'm having an annoying issue with my mk7 and I'm wondering if anyone else has seen it.
If I plug my phone (iphone 5s) in to the car while Spotify is open on it, it crashes the media playing software in the car - the screen goes blank for a bit, and then it reboots from scratch (which takes a minute or two). If the phone is still connected, it will then crash again and again in a loop. This also happens if I turn the car on with the phone running spotify already plugged in.
If I plug my phone in while Spotify is not running, let it do the 'device connection' bit and then open Spotify, everything is OK.
This never used to happen - I don't know exactly how long ago things changed but it's within the last few months and is presumably due to either an iOS update or a Spotify app change that the car doesn't like. What I don't know is whether the car is at fault or whether it's the phone doing something out of spec.
Another annoying thing that changed about the same time is that the steering wheel controls will no longer control Spotify while it's open - if I try and skip a track it will always switch back to the ipod on the phone.
Has anyone else seen anything like this?
