few questions...
« on: 06 July 2015, 21:46 »
apologies for probably putting this in the wrong place but have ordered a gti and have a few questions.

It's due to be built a week on Monday .

1. Will it Come with the winter pack, keyless and sat nav?
2. If arrives a few weeks before the 65 plates arrive can I delay it so I get a new plate.
3. When, on average, should it arrive?
4. On an average winter, does it winter tyres putting on?

Apologies for probably being too vague and asking daft questions. Bit giddy at the thought of a new car!

A week which Monday, today or next?  A week next Monday would be BW30 - wc 20/7.  A week today - BW29 wc 13/7.

1.  As it's a post build week 22 car, it should have the winter pack, nav and keyless included.

2.  I don't see why not but check with your dealer, but tell them you want it for Sept 1st.

3.  It should arrive at dealer approx 4 weeks from beginning of build - some are occasionally quicker in transit and some slower - very recently there were delays at Emden port so can take longer, but on average 4 weeks.  Check this for the stages and  timings http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=274690.msg2512493#msg2512493

4.  May well depend on where you live.

Ah ok.  Should be arriving around wc 17/8 then (unless early or delayed), so definitely ask the dealer to hang onto it till 1st Sept and '65 plate

Don't forget to post some pics up when you get it.  What's your spec?

It's night blue and is justthe standard spec apart from that. Had a vw golf 1.4e 2003 since new and have never driven anything else. Test drive blew me away.

Nice   standard spec is pretty good, more so now with the nav, winter pack and keyless included.  I'm sure you'll love it

Might be worth asking the dealer now whether they'll be happy to hold it until the 65 plate. You should be ok but sometimes they might be reluctant if storage space is limited etc.
