Thanks for the responses chaps -the new screen looks very similar to the Pro screen and removes the silly gloss black framing - also largely reduces the desire to spend the large amount of extra cash on the Pro....

Did you tick "Car-Play App-Connect" on your order by any chance? Regardless, could you see if CarPlay works if you have an iPhone please? It's currently unclear if the option actually needs to be purchased and VW don't seem to know any information about it either!

First post here after getting my car on Saturday morning (Match 2.0 TDI). The car is a BW22 car with the new MIB ii system. I spec'd it with App Connect, however this feature doesn't currently work in my car - I have a Car Net specialist from VW ringing me tomorrow. As far as I thought, the system had to be ordered with app connect. But with all the problems with my system me and my salesmen wondered if it was enabled, so we looked at a Tiguan with the MIB ii which does not have app connect spec'd. If you try to access it it comes up with the message "Not currently available and a key can be purchased from the retailer". So perhaps there is hope for people who didn't spec it.

One of the cool features I've noticed so far on the new system is that Radio logos are installed by default. So when you set a station as a favorite, the logo appears.

Just off the phone with my dealer, he says the system is compatible with android only but not Iphone??? Doesn't make sense to me!

No-one seems to know any concrete info! If this key option can be purchased then that's great as I don't really wanna pay £100 now for something that *may* work.

Seems to still be a mystery 

I've specced DNS Pro on mine and back in early June I asked my dealer if I needed to spec Car Net Connect App.  He contacted VWUK with this question and they told him that on their system it lists the Car Net Connect App as standard as part of the Pro navigation.  But I'm still not convinced and not sure whether to add it on.

If it hasn't already been done as I understand it the 'App Connect' needs to be registered on delivery of the vehicle, with a VW portal, using the VIN in order for it to be enabled for that vehicle.

I notice VWAG have a 7 day a week 12 hours per day freephone number for customer Carnet queries unlike VWUK.

As I say my dealer says it doesn't work with IPhone, and I don't want to pay £100 for something that may not work.
Thing is if he's wrong and it does work, what do I when when car arrives without me ordering it

Where is the gloss black framing? Mine looks identical to this but was BW 21
