I'll keep the Golf for a couple of years and then hopefully move onto one of these beauties!

It kinda depends on when BMW decide to release the new version though...

The new mustang. If I can cut my commute down I can get the V8...

I was planning a 2nd hand 911 next but these are top of my list at the moment, were moving soon so will be doing little mileage so a V8 it is!

Going to wait for a demo to become available hopefully in the Autumn but it look's like a year wait for one once ordered.

So, let's pretend for a second that there will be no more Golfs (of any variant) made and you had to buy new. What would your next car be?

For me it'd probably be an S4 (maybe an S3) and if I could stretch one of the new C63 AMG Mercs (estate version).

A hearse.

Anyone else think that with all the standard kit on the Golf, it's hard to look at other brands because of all the options you'd need to add on?

I can't not have Xenons now that I've had them in the Golf but most manufacturers are charging £1,000+ for them alone.

I spat my dummy out with VW when my GTI went from a 14 week delivery to a 31 week delivery, cancelled and ordered a M135i. With BMW's discount it came in £3k more than the GTI but does have £2k worth of sat nav that I didn't order for the Golf as the tech in BMW looks worth the money. I haven't got keyless, reversing cam (BMW's looks terrible), front sensors or adaptive cruise control but there is an extra 100bhp.

The lease on my R ends mid-March 2018. The 8GTI will arrive in 2019 and the 8R in 2020. Even though leases can be continued for an extra 3 months without Terms and Conditions being changed, this still presents a problem if I want an 8R. Perhaps I can re-lease the present car at a lower cost for an extra 2 years. It seems that this is a distinct possibility.

Otherwise, I might have to switch to another manufacturer. Which one? I have no idea at the moment.

Surely that would necessitate a convertible Evoque?
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

It's amazing quite how different the 135i and GTI are. I know the 125i(?) is probably actually closer to a rival to the GTI in reality but I've got to admit the 135i was the first car I'd driven in years and years that actually made me laugh as I drove it. A proper wild car and two fingers up to the PC brigade. BMW doing what they do best - putting a proper big engine in a car.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it. I can't believe BMW don't sell more of these things, I hardly ever see any around and always smile when I see one.
