If you can afford and are attracted to the virtues of an RS3 you're probably not going to have a long love affair with a Golf GTI.
The RS3 has many attributes that a Golf GTI will never have and despite being based on basically the same MQB platform it's a very different car.
I doubt you'll get much goodwill out of VW at this fairly early stage and they'll just pass you back to your dealership to see if they're prepared to make a gesture. If you've chiseled all their profit in the car away already then I wouldn't expect them to make any grand gestures but you never know.
