Not seen this one before... This sounds good... Speed camera database and audible warning.

And removable!

 Nice post.

A 6.5" DNS costs £750 as a factory order. How much do they charge for the add on? If it is more than £750, then it is not worth it and I would go with the factory order. Less hassle IMO.

That looks like a good option. Does anybody know if it can be installed on a standard Discovery Navigation or does only work on CMS? I can see in the pictures that uses IGO as navigation software which it's brilliant, I've always used it on all my sat navs. I would be tempted to install one on my Discovery Nav and use it instead of the VW software. That's if the price is right as well.

I think the point of the unit is for folk that already have a car without Sat Nav so don't actually have that luxury option of building from new.

Yes,  you can't retro fit the Vw one nav units,  plus if you are like some in here who have three golf's in two years then you can save money by swapping it over.

I'd not seen this particular one talked about in here before and the speed camera thing particularly caught my eye because none of the dash units I'd seen have ever done that before.

The SnS version in the link looks very much like the 1st generation retro fit so in this case you'd be much better heading down to any VW dealer for the latest official MIB1 nav retro fit, cheaper and comes fully fitted with warranty at any VW dealer

No, what they seem to be doing is actually just fitting a nav unit that displays on the screen - as I ws saying in another thread on here - the screen unit is just a screen unit with controls - the actual navigation piece is a separate box that lives under the drivers seat...

It seems that this 3rd party unit emulates that

Yeah that's why I linked the VW (Kenwood/Garmin) unit as it does exactly that

Uses the CMS screen and the nav function is activated by using the 'media' button (a new button comes with the VW kit to replace the 'media' one with one marked 'media/nav'
SnS are likely using the exact same kit as VW but at a hugely inflated price (£799 supply versus £599 fitted)
