GTD build Times
« on: 18 June 2015, 21:07 »
So I ordered my new GTD this week, dealer reckons I'll have it in 8-12 weeks, I thought that was a little optimistic.
Anyone ordered one recently and know a realistic timescale??

I'm in no real panic as I still get to drive my current GTD
Current: MK7 Golf R (Limestone Grey) DSG, 19 Prets, Winter Pack, Rear Camera, High Beam Assist, Apple Connect, Gloss Black Mirrors
Gone: MK7 Golf R (Tornado Red) DSG, Winter Pack, Keyless, Gloss Black Mirrors
Gone: MK7 Golf GTD (Pure White)

Really wanted DSG plus I wanted to release all my savings from my current car, so went PCP instead of buying outright, didn't see the point in having £20k savings in a depreciating Assit, just hope I've done the right thing lol
Was going to go for an R but with the miles we do it wouldn't be the best decision  :undecided:

Do you plan to buy the car at the end of the PCP agreement out of interest?

I buy my cars outright like you did with yours, the way I look at it I am borrowing the money interest free from myself rather than pay interest to another party. If you need the 20k fair enough to release the equity.
I often wonder like yourself if it's best going the pcp or lease route but I always conclude that if you can buy without the need for credit and get a decent discount it's more efficient.
I can see where your coming from though Cossieian.

Yea I've thought about it over and over in my head and I just decided to heck wif it, just try it and see how it goes, at the end of the day if I don't like it I can always change my mind and just buy a car outright again with the money, sure I'll pay a bit of interest along the way but hey it's better than pissing it up a wall

Yeah it's probably as long as it is broad.
Looks a good spec and DSG is fantastic.

I was expecting my build week 28 to confirm today and was then told yesterday I'm now sitting on BW40! Initially was BW22.

Absolute madness how a company such as VW can have an 18 week variation in build date!

Hopefully you might have better luck than me!
