Question about mirrors
« on: 07 June 2015, 19:38 »
Is it possible to fold the mirrors in electronically whilst driving?
I had a near miss in my GTI today whilst driving down a narrow lane and a berk in a BMW came at me in the middle of the road forcing me into the hedgerow.

Reminds me that I need to sort a dashcam. If I had one in your situation then I would look to stop and have them hit me or make way (preferable!) rather than have them force you to kerb your wheels.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Vehicle speed needs to be below approximately 30mph for it to work on the move though. I've had no luck finding the threshold speed in vcds/vag com as would like to increase.

Is that right? Shame as no speed limit on mk6, why did they change this? For example, what if you got glare whilst driving on A or M road, I would invert wing mirrors for a short time whilst remaining in the same lane....?

Yes. Fold if speed < ~30mph, unfold at any speed.

Intrigued now why you would need to fold in your mirrors at speeds over 30mph ??

Reduce drag - like a Tornado sweeping its wings back to go supersonic
