Guys when would I install my DTUK FSR box to my new Gti PP? when its run in or would a couple of hundred mile be ok?

Please advise

I'd say after a few hundred miles once any immediate issues with the car have become apparent or otherwise. Hopefully the latter.
The box just amplifies some of the car's ECU settings so there's no mad power rush that will upset the engine too much so long as you're sensible and let it all bed in for 500+ miles before letting loose.

These boxes,forgive my lack of knowledge,do you simply plug them in somewhere yourself?

Three plugs and each battery terminal
