Machine polishing gloss black trim

Ok so I'm gonna try and and correct my gloss black trims on the B-pillar tomorrow, and was wondering what tips you guys have for these? I've got the following products to work with:

DAS-6 Pro
Orange, White and Black 4" Hexlogic Pads
Poorboys SSR1, SSR2 and SSR2.5 (obviously doing something wrong if I have to step up to 2.5 I'd have thought!!!)
Dodo Juice Lime Prime

Will put some Fk1000p on for protections after but was looking at some CarPro DLUX maybe? What do you use for protection on yours?

I just use the same protection on pillars as on the rest of the car, i.e. whatever wax I'm using.  The plastic pillars are by far the worst for swirl marks, but a good go with the DA should sort them.  LED light essential for checking progress as you go along.  My pillars need doing too, have all the same PB SSR's you do but not had to step up to 2.5 yet.  I'll start with SSR1 on mine but expect I'll need to go up to SSR2.

Might hit it with Lime Prime first to see if it does anything. Should I be using a slower speed on the DA here as it's plastic trim and also spot pads which may build up a bit more heat?

I'd start off a bit slower than you might on bodywork and dial it up as required.  Spot pads are a good call.  Last time I did my pillars I used 4" pads, which I also use on the boot bumper and lip (the dirt magnet bit) and a few other areas (front lower part) where a smaller pad gives more control.

So had a go at these today and pretty pleased with how they came out, not 100% correction but pretty good overall with just a few RDS left that I didn't want to go overkill on to remove. Stepped up to SSR2 on a green hexlogic for correction followed by SSR1 on a white pad, then finished with Lime Prime on a black pad. Really impressed with the Lime Prime, first time I've used it and it really gave a great result.

Nice work.  They've come up really well    Great to have a sun gun.  It's on my wish list.

Lime Prime's good stuff.  I've getting low on loads of detailing stuff, so putting an order in soon and have added some of the Lime Prime Plus to the shopping list.  Only used the normal before but fancy trying it as it's more medium cut.  Might try it out on the rear bumper and pillars.

Looks class that mate, these B pillars seem to be so prone to scratches. I've taken a lot of care with mine but they're still very swirly.

Cheers all. Yeah they are a pain and even with careful washing and drying I imagine they'll need doing again sooner or later. Look good for now though

Rebecca it's just a cheapo copy sun gun I bought off eBay but does the job
