@gazmondo. How come your signature says deposit paid for r400??

I placed a £500 deposit a few weeks back when VW announced they were going to build it, although I'm Reaching a bit for this car, it will have to be under 40k for a 5door DSG, metallic paint & dcc & have a good GFV to keep my monthly low on pcp,if it doesn't work out my deposit is fully refundable so nothing ventured nothing gained.

If GFV ends up at around 60% (because of lack of lease deals and exclusive/low availability) we assume it is dot on £40k with your options, and you are unable to achieve more than 5% discount, you are looking at around £550pm on 36 month PCP terms.

Same as above, but 55% GFV, and you're talking around £610 a month. I doubt it will be as low as 50% (around where the standard R is right now). 55% is likely if numbers are not limited.

Wow as much as that, if that is the case I'll be sticking with the R which isn't a bad thing, I was hoping to put 5k down & have monthly at no more than £350.

OK so what do you reckon folks?  I'm due a service in about 3 weeks and currently sitting with stage 1 APR remap.  Bother to take it off or just let it roll through...?  Obviously this is not a warranty issue but what do they do on a service, there might be a software update?

Tell NOT to perform software updates

You don't want them locking out the ECU  :lipsrsealed:

Really happy with it.

I tend to drive around in Normal mode most of the time but Sport when I fancy really giving it some.  Sport mode is ridiculous, not sure it's too healthy for the clutch but I'm about 22k on the clock now and can't complain whatsoever really. About to put some new tyres on the front, looking forward to having proper grip by replacing the Bridgestones!

Been in for my second service, first time with a Stage 1 APR on it.  Left it in Eco on purpose as I  knew they would be test driving (had a complaint about creaky suspension) and nothing was said about it being remapped.

Another 17000 miles or so until the next service

Hey y'all. Instead of me starting a new thread I thought I'd just jump on here with some FYI I've just learnt.

So as some of you may know, my handbrake has a mind of its own, with that said its been in a few times to try and fix it, including resetting the Ecu that controls the brakes and abs etc. it has also been in for two services. It also has a very evident hardware modifications. Anyway I got a call today from my dealer saying that vw had been back in touch after their initial turn it on and off attempt failed wanting to know if my car had been remapped. I explained that yes it had but nothing had been touched regarding the brake controller etc, and the salesman agreed with me but we also agreed that vw will hide behind this so I'm gonna go back to standard before I get it back in. What's relevant to this thread however is that even though my dealer had scanned the car at service, done updates and scanned for this handbrake (and the obvious physical modifications) my car has not been flagged as td1! Now I'm not saying that when it comes in to check they wouldn't be able to detect it in its current state, but what I am saying is day to day and even fault reading and updates don't flag the td1 thing up. So currently against all odds my car is standard in vws eyes.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Very interesting, do you have tuning box or Ecu remap on it.I still don't know of anyone that has been TD1 flagged, maybe it's just scare tactics.

Stage 2 shark map. Basically he admitted his scanning software wasn't sophisticated enough to pick up the flag automatically but said that vw used some that picked it up every time or so he'd been told.
