Me too, I have fond memories of travelling in style from cornwall to heathrow in the back of a brown austin maxi sitting on top of a load of suitcases in the boot. It's amazing how kids were treated equally as well as the family pet in the 80's. Kids these days have it too good.
Good times - lots of very memorable journeys in varying cars including a blue Ford Zephyr and green Ford Capri.
I remember a trip through Europe, travelling through Italy, squished in the back with my 3 sisters, getting very thirsty. There was a fancy bottle in the back of the car which I took to be Ribena and promptly swigged it down. Turned out to be a bottle of cheap Chianti, the type in a half basket bottle. My parents didn't seem particularly bothered by this, probably because I zonked out asleep for hours and gave them some blessed relief from the constant "are we there yet" whining. Come to think of it they may have deliberately planted the stuff

If it happened now, I'd be put in care!
Anyway, anyone for Gesture Control
