Car holding revs
« on: 25 May 2015, 18:22 »
Hello, just joined the forum and looking for some guidance,

When coming to a stop and depressing the clutch the revs sometimes hold at around 1500rpm,it doesn't happen all the time but I am starting to notice it more. Any ideas what could be causing this?

I had a look at the car today, last night the engine management light came on and after a scan i found it to be code P0171 which means "System too Lean (bank 1)". After a bit of research i found this to be a possible air leak or PCV issue, so today i had a look around for leaks and tested the pcv, i was able to blow through it but not suck, i also took the oil cap off and the engine ran awful and shook violently, it may of even stalled had i not replaced the oil cap. I also noticed oil sitting around one of the bolts in the rocker cover (not sure if this is related in anyway) i will attach an image. Any help will be great otherwise ill have to book it into the garage. Cheers.
