rear arch repair panels

any one done this?
my rear arches are shot could use filler but would be bodge job!

eurocarparts do rear arches cut and weld has anyone done this? any advice?

my advice would be to only cut back the rot and then trim down the new arch to fit. I always try to slide the new arch in under the original as once its welded up and fillered you can get waxoil in the gap from inside the car. I need to do an arch repair on my mk2 soon. its only the front half of the arch that's rotted so basically the repair panel will be chopped in half and the rear section binned as I really don't see the point in chopped out sound original metal just to make way for a complete repair panel.

I did like this, only removed what was broken

if you can keep all the welds under the trim line it makes it easier to blend in the repair and hide it.
You need a deft touch and skill to blend it in on a visible part of the panel, which costs money.
But don't take any chances cut out all the rust if you want it to last.

ECP panels can be a bit touch and go for fit, often need a lot of modifying.
Don't be surprised if you have to cut them quite drastically
