I'm just about to have a turbo back Milltek exhaust fitted with sports cat,I can't decide between non resonated or resonated, just worried that the non res will be a tad loud however they tell me its not really that loud hmmmm,,,,, anyone have any thoughts?

Noise is really personal opinion, loud to someone is quite to another.

I have the 3" Race Milltek cat-back (resonated), I am getting a 3" downpipe in the near future and that will defo be loud enough for me.

Which exhaust is it that you are getting, 2.75" or 3" race?
MK6 GTI CSG | Revo Stage 2 | Revo Stage 2 Intake | Milltek 3" TB Exhaust | SuperPro Anti Lift Kit | H&R ARB's | Bilstein B12 | TT Short Shifter |Mintex M1144 Race Pads | HEL Braided Lines |

MK5 GTI - DSG + Extras (Sold because DSG was Soooo Boring !!!)

Are you driving it every day?

I would always go res. Its isn't going to be quiet, but it will be far more comfortable. Remember, you cant turn the volume of your exhaust down when it becomes too much on long journeys.

It's a mk2. Fill it, drive it, enjoy it.

Is there much noise difference if you just put 3 inch race catback on stock down pipe ??

Yes there is quite a difference, but I also have my pre-cat removed. The 2 two combined give a deep, powerful sound rather than a loud raspy sound.

I have driven cars with the 2.75" non res and the 3" Race with Res + Pre-Cat removal. I prefer the deeper tone and rumble of the 3" race.

If you are going from the turbo and go non-res it might be too much for a daily driver, all depends on your needs and wanst mate

subjective, i had the resonated 3" race system on my Ed35 and found it a bit too noisy for my tastes, other may disagree and in reality my tastes may have changed but it rendered the dynaudio useless

i'd also be looking at the BCS offering as never seen any negative publicity

Recently bought a 2009 GTI and it has a full Milltek exhaust. Don't know if it's resonated or non-resonated as yet, but it is pretty loud when the foot is down. Is there an easy way to tell? Also, can you switch from either to the other by switching a section?

Cheers!

the resonated versions has 2 silencers / mufflers. The non res only has one, so just look under you car and see

Agree with this, although I think the 35 has a different exhaust actuator or something like that which makes it louder. CatBack Resonated make for quite a difference so I can only imagine Turbo Back being quite intrusive on one.
