sticking throttle
« on: 19 May 2015, 12:18 »
Hi chaps,

I've noticed that when I "blip" (rev) the throttle (from stand still with clutch in), it seems a bit slow coming back down. And sometimes when I pull away at a junction the car seems to almost stall then almost lurch to excellerate. And of course my mpg appears to be down.

Can anyone suggest a cause/remedy please. It's booked into garage on Friday but any heads up would be appreciated.

Could it be the throttle body?

Thanks in advance

Mine seems to be doing this recently. I too was thinking the throttle body, or maybe a faulty accelerator pedal. I had a similar issue with my old Polo 6R GTI. VW replaced the pedal and all was fine. Would love to know the cause if you find out matey.

It actually had a new accelerator pedal just before I bought it so maybe not that in my case. I do suspect the throttle body but I'm no mechanic.

I'll let you know when I know. Fingers crossed.

Maybe the pcvs valve faulty. Does it hold the revs when changing gear or is yours dsg

Apologies...been really busy and not on for a while. Appears it was just a "dirty" throttle body. Cleaned and all seems good now.
