bad mpg
« on: 14 May 2015, 11:29 »
Hey guys,

I have a 1.8T AGU which only gets 245 miles to a full tank of fuel, 99% town driving but not ridiculously fast, idles fine and temp sits at 90 only serviced 6 months ago.....any ideas why I get such poor consumption ?  also no fault codes coming up.

cheers
Scott

Migh be worth changing the fuel filter if not been done already. I would also check block 032 on vag to see what the fuel trim is sitting at.

99% town driving? Then not surprised you need a lot of fuel. My 1.8 75hp mk3 estate was often empty when only driven short distance in town after 250-300 miles, never mind it has 60 liter tank.

My 1.8t aum seems to be running very rich and stinking of fuel, I checked block 32 and idle is -2.3% and partial is -19.5 it keeps bogging and I get funny jerky boost, just fitted new maf, and no difference could this be a bad 02 sensor precat?

Does the agu ecu support that feature?
