the breaks when applied sometimes (not always) you have to press little down with nothing happening then all of a sudden like a quite sharpish slip and a rather sudden break point rather than smooth and gradual.. very hard to explain.... its as if it doesnt do anything then all of a sudden breaks. not smooth as normal...It doesn't seem to be happening every journey but has been happening more regularly. and doesn't seem to be when the breaks are warm or anything car is a mk6 gti with 37k on the clock. no track driving just usual. any ideas people?
... it's turned into a fashion show for poofters.
What's the condition of your discs and pads? mine was sticking and the man at the garage said i wasn't using them hard enough.
Breaks, as in a trip weekend away, or brakes, as in used to stop the car?

Sounds like air in the brake lines to me. I'm no expert however.
