I really hope I can get my hands on it middle of next week.

Trying my hardest to be patient. Luckily I have a manic week to keep me busy.

Need to brush up on detailing and need to pick some stuff up at some point.

Stealer emailed me today. Car has arrived! Can't collect till first week of June tho, but at least it's ready and waiting.

I've just got the snowfoam gear, lambswool wash mitt and a drying towel. The snowfoam makes a big difference and gives a nice shine.

Awesome, glad its arrived and is nice and safe!!! ha Hoping mine will arrive in the next day or so. I will know when i pop in tomorrow morning. Il look into the snowfoam stuff.

Gotta love the snow foam.  Which one did you get in the end, the Valet Pro?

Nearly there Snooze, look forward to seeing the pics galore, after you've given it a going over with all your detailing stuff

Booth11 & Snooze you both seem like you know your stuff. For a complete novice who has it stands has nothing for cleaning/detailing since moving house, what would be the essentials I need to get.

This car when it arrives will be with me for a few years and really want to look after it but it can be bit of a minefield.

Hi Ben

Probably best to head over to the detailing section of the forum, there's lots of threads on there to look through, but if you post a thread on novice detailing, I'll be happy to give some pointers and recommendations

That way it'll keep this thread on topic.

If you're going to do some amateur detailing yourself (without going way overboard), i'd recommend a decent iron decontaminator (something like iron X) for when you get it home, and a sealant that is easy to apply. I'd recommend G-Techniq C2V3 to the external surfaces of the car and wheels - relatively cheap, easy on, easy off with the excess and you don't have to watch getting it on unpainted plastic surfaces. Beading is excellent, shine is excellent, it lasts a good 6 months before the effects start to diminish and muck comes off very easy (brake dust finds it hard to stick to the wheels).
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Thank you both, I will post onto the detailing section as well. I just can't wait to get it now, all a little too exciting. :)

Expecting my R to hit Tyne Dock about now, clear customs tomorrow and be at the dealership Tuesday. I’ll be picking up Tues or Weds straight after work if things go to plan.

Your query has just reminded me to order some stuff for the new car:-

A litre of G-Techniq C2V3

A litre of G-Techniq G-wash

500mL of G-Techniq W6 Iron fallout remover

I ordered in those quantities because they seemed the best value for money £/mL and I will get through them eventually, especially with a second car likely on the horizon.

My BW19 car arrived at the dealers. However I'm not registering it for 5 weeks. That wait will be tough!

Wow a 5 week wait until you register. I'm not sure I could cope with that. It will be worth it though. Mine should hit the dealers either today or Tuesday (stupid bank holiday)
