Golf mk4 GTI 150 cam sensor fault help!!!
« on: 23 April 2015, 14:39 »
hi guys need a bit of help 1st time posting, i have a golf gti mk4 150, i had a remap done a few years ago alls been fine up until the last few months im losing power numb is more like it, i had it on the vw computer and it picked up a cam shaft sensor im thinking the cam belt is due for a change so could this be the power problem and why its picking up a sensor? also i had a creaking noise took it to my mechanic and he said it was the bottom arms i usually have 2 sets a year put on as ive got 18" wheels on and it tends to rip them apart, i told him it wasnt the arms as it was a different noise to what they usually make when they are worn he was adamant and refused to look any further so i came in here had a look through files and found it could be the anti roll bar bushes, disconnected them and yaaaay that was the noise a tenner later and its fixed!!

Worn chain can spook the sensors on the cam.
do the lot inc guides with the belt.
