Very strange then. 084 doesn't have pins 48 and 49 either!  :undecided:

Back to the afs fitting subject.

I'm just looking around to buy it tonight, but there are so many places selling them.

From what i've already read, each headlight takes a can-bus twisted pair from the afs unit. But looking at some of the product pictures, this doesn't seem to be present - or maybe they're just using a generic (old) photo.

Those of you running the car systems 1 sensor kit, could you tell me if you're lights have can-bus at pins 1 and 2?

cheers

My install was just one sensor, AFS pins 4 and 5 go to both headlights pins 1 and 2.

I used the Kufatec adapters but the CAN wires were not twisted so I just rewired them myself with a twisted cable I made up.

Thanks, makes sense now. Was worried there was a kit that done levelling (up down) alone without left right.
Just spoke to my brother and said not to worry if they're not twisted.
Just need to order one now, most of them seem to come from Hong kong or China, hopefully no extra taxes on arrival!

Cheers

What price for the kits from Hong Kong?

1s 144 and another 250, quite a difference! One claims original parts, the other doesn't state (cheaper one) am in the process of finding out.

I know that VW do make parts in China. The only thing that spoils the Carsystems kit is having to buy wiring harnesses in the kit.

So i've just had an interesting message from one of the hong kong sellers.

I asked why he's got such a price difference between the non led kit and the led kit - where everywhere else sell one kit that works with both.

He's come back saying "the LED version has 2 extra wires that go from the CECM to 14PIN connector"

Now correct me if i'm wrong, but the extra wires that go to the BCM, are to allow the bi-xenon shutters to work, not the LED's…?

If its the headlight harness he's on about yes those are for the shutters, the trigger wires. If you have complete OEM headlights and the harnesses less the trigger wires. You'll need the AFS module, rear sensor and the harness from sensor to the AFS module.
