Best set up with a vernier pulley and the associated costs involved.
2.0 bottom end and a fairly lairy cam is a lot of fun

A 2.0 bottom end with the cam is defo the way to go. I've got a AGG bottom end and a kent GS2H cam in mine and can recommend it! Gives a good kick and doesn't give you a lumpy idle! Think its a 276 but don't quote me on that!

not sure about the 2.0 conversion yet but I was thinking of putting cam in the 1800. so just trying to figure out which cam would be a good compromise for both engine sizes. might just go for gs1h as it has a little more lift and duration than the piper. had a mk1 escort many moons ago with a 280 degree cam which was pretty spot on at idle but darn it could rev. well until a big end cap came loose
