Headlight 'dance'...
« on: 16 April 2015, 12:10 »
I noticed in the past week or so that my car has not done this (it certainly used to do it). Does it happen every time or only when the loading conditions change?

Thanks...

Pretty certain mine does it every time - because my car is garaged the auto lights come on each morning when I start the car, and I'm sure I get the down, left/right, up alignment each time.

I think that if you are in Eco mode, you don't get the left/right wiggle, just the up/down - although I could be wrong about this.

Hmm, I'm in 'normal mode....the dance is always noticeable to me as my neighbour has white painted garage doors directly opposite my drive - or noticeable by its absence at the moment....

Put it in right hand traffic (travel) mode, then flash full beam.... this will quickly tell you if the x/y adjustment motor are working!

Another little trait - had both front windows partially open by a couple of inches and because of this pressed the button on the b pillar deactivating the interior scan.  Not sure if it was the windows or the scan but just been out to move it back onto the drive and the lights didn't come on when I unlocked it despite them being in auto.

Parked up, windows closed didn't disable scan and locked it.  Unlocked it and lights came on and did their auto check.

I'm waiting for the usual RTFM!

Will play around with settings tomorrow night.

Mine only does it sometimes. If I turn the lights on whilst on the move it almost never does it. It does do it, however, if I turn the lights on when stationary, unless i've just had them on (such as if i duck into the shops for 5 mins and then come back to the car)
