Can a Mk6 GTI be Custom Mapped

Hi all, I keep reading that they can't and people really reccomend the Revo chip. The question is can it be done and who's best? Thanks

Yes it can done, some custom mappers need to take the ECU and get it on a bench.

But to be honest mate, companies like REVO & APR have spent hundreds of hours perfecting the map and tweaking it, why would you want to go with anyone else? Plus they plug in and map in 15 mins.

The REVO map is near perfect stage one map as long as you have good tyres.

I have seen too many "Tuners" thinking they know what they are doing, 2 weeks later all kinds of issue with timing and fueling arises.

Save they few extra pennies and get a well known map

Thanks for the advice! Keen to have a custom map as I can notice there is a slight flat spot on acceleration which I hoped would cure it buy the fueling map.

Unless the custom mapped knows the TSI engine inside out I would always recommend going with a tuner has proven results and customer service.
