Light Assist > Convenience indicating?
« on: 14 April 2015, 20:35 »
Hi, what's the use of the: Light settings > Light Assist > Convenience indicating? I can't find the explanation in the manuals.

Thanks,

Convenience indicators is just the 3 flash when you don't fully engage the indicator stalk, for lane changes etc.  :nerd:

I might be wrong but convenience indicating is when you indicate left or right but instead of pushing or lifting the indicator stalk fully up or down into the full position, you just tap it up or down and the indicator light comes on three times and then goes off.

Basically is just a convenience rather than fully applying the stalk. Don't know if i'm explaining this very well

It's very useful feature (also on mk6).  The other day I was fiddling about in the convenience menu and accidentally deselected it.  I can tell you that using the full stalk for lane changes was a pain.  It soon got switched back to this.

i've had this feature ever since a 2002 astra - can't work out why you'd ever want to turn it off

I changed mine to four flashes with VCDS - three does not seem quite enough!

I'll be looking to do this too, if you glide into an adjacent lane rather than swerve in, sometimes 3 flashes doesn't quite do it.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

I changed mine to 5 and ran with it for a few weeks but that was just too much.  happy to be back at 3!
