Haven't really missed it, thought I would have but no.

I had it on the rocco and mk6 and did like it but really needed to be off CD to get the true benefit as it showed up the quality of MP3

The Dynaudio is great but both the DNS and DNS Pro units are pants. The damned CD Drive or DVD Drive is in the Glove Box. No how idiotic is that? I would be glad to be without the proximity sensor and have a CD/DVD drive built into these units. Really p!ssed off with this. Will be installing a couple of CD Changers in the car. CD sounds best, the other formats sound terrible.

Heard the difference between the DVD drive for the DNS Pro and the CD drive for the DNS whilst playing a CD. CD drive sounded possibly a bit better.

Rant over. Now where is that Scotch?

Why not try some FLAC files? NavPro supports them.

After discovering it supported them I gave it a go. I can't tell the difference, but maybe with dynaudio and something other than the noise I like to listen to it might make a difference?

TBH, I don't blame VW for moving the disc unit, hardly anyone uses CD's any more - I wouldn't have put it past them to actually not have it at all.

I am a flat earther. It was bad enough moving from Analogue to Digital. If only I could play my vinyl in the car!

I know what FLAC is technically and I fully understand that many swear by it.... *if* you are an audiophile it probably is the antidote to your desire for spinning plastic ;-)

You do know that you could have ordered this instead of NavPro?

LOL! If only it was possible. BTW, I have the DNS and not the DNS Pro.

Your ears are clearly better than mine as I can't tell the difference between a CD or mp3 - sounds great even on the standard system, sounds even better on Dynaudio.  Mind you, not that I listen to CD's as its not 1999

Also, I've had both the DNS and now the DNS Pro and to call them pants is a little harsh IMO - both systems are very good - yes, they have their flaws (touch screen is annoying if you go over a bump for eg) but so do the BMW & Audi equivalents which are far from perfect also.  Screen is very clear, system can be operated by a child its that simple, the Sat Nav is excellent and its pretty slick tbh

I agree, a bit of an excessive reaction on my part calling them pants.

Was a bit narked seeing that a Tech Pack, Car-Net and 6.5" Screen were going to be available and that I missed out. Have gotten over it.

Ah, such is life!  I remember when I got my mk 6 GTI, a few months later they completely changed the rear lights (which were much better) - wound me up for months lol!  I even got annoyed when they changed the GTI PP to a red badge (having had just the silver ones), so much so that I went and paid for them to be changed

To be honest, I don't think you'll notice the extra 0.7 inches anyway.  Size doesn't matter

Same thing happened to me re the tail lights with the Mk6 GTI.
