race car
« on: 06 April 2015, 08:08 »
I have a 8v mk2 golf gti its completely standard apart from the KN induction but after being around my mates mk5 gti which he is turning into a road going track car i wanted to do the same but to also keep the originality of the car.

I was thinking of doing
powerflex all bushes
coilovers
brakes
race seat
momo steering wheel
tyres

is there any thing else i can do and is it a good idea as I want to keep the look of the car standard

All you want to do is keep the look of the car standard? If that's the case you could stick the same engine your mate has in his and enjoy destroying him on the track.
It's a mk2. Fill it, drive it, enjoy it.

There is nothing standard about a lowered car with a race seat and wheel. But if you want to go more sleeper think about upgrading the engine.

you cant keep it original and racer at the same time. if you modify it slightly then track it eventually you will want to mod it more and more. best idea for you would be a second separate track car.
