what front to go for
« on: 01 April 2015, 21:06 »
Hi all, Im at the stage now where I want to sort of the front end. I dont like the chav indicators with weird LED driving lights and the crystal clear headlamps are peeling in the inside.
Im thinking a single lamp badgeless grille with smoked cross hairs and smoked indicators. What do you think?

Entirely up to you as it's your car and you have to live with it. If you want a dark front then what you are suggesting would achieve that.

I like your thinking!.. Did just that to mine. I went with the crystal iron cross headlights and crystal indicators as I think it looks good with black. Don't think the crystal indicators would work as well with red so my opinion would be to go smoked. I much prefere the single headlamps too so its a thumbs up from me!

As mentioned, the way your car looks is up to you. But my opinion follows.

Badgeless twin grill

IMO, a GTi always looks better with a quad grill. With red, I think smoked indicators would look good. If going for quad, keep the crystals.

With that body kit, it's OE only for me.

The body kit screams 80's, so mixing in lights and grilles from the 2000's will clash. That grille spoiler needs to go too.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

I paid 15 plus 10 postage for mine on ebay and it is mint. They guy wanted 30 and I low balled him at 15, but he accepted! You just have to look around. They are 90 new on VWHeritage IIRC
