Bumper paint.

Anyone used it on mk2 trim? Or at all for that matter?

My trim is looking quite tired, but there is no way in hell I am forking out for new. There are about a million and one different "remedies" people suggest ranging from a heat gun to penut butter. Atm I am thinking about buying a can of Matt black bumper paint and just be done with it. I've tried trim restorer in the past and it's not that good :\

Morrisons own brand shoe polish. I used it on my old MK2. Lasted about 6 months and cost about £1.50 per tub. Even came in a squeeze bottle with a foam pad on the end. Super easy and worked a treat.

How long does it last though? Painting is permanent. I'm never doing to need my trim to be an off-black colour...

I had greyish blotchy patches, but then I applied Vinyl dye and it has worked well for mine.  I just reapply yearly.

The morissons stuff is spot on. Looked like new. Reapplying it didn't bother me as I just did it when I gave my car some TLC and waxed it at the same time. Like I said, every six months or so. It's awesome stuff.

Plastic dye is permanent to a point it takes a long time to fade.

You really need to make sure the parent material is free from peanut butter, oils and products.
A good clean with solvent and a brush helps but don't use the stuff that will melt it......
